Chapter 5 – Conclusion

Atma and Parmatma are within us. There is no external source or involvement. We have the capability to recognize them and manage them to achieve Nirvana during our life not after death.

In Gita Lord Krishna was trying to help Arjun look within his self to regain confidence. Arjun had great character and was not suffering from ego but lacked self-belief. He was lost because he lost the power of thinking and reasoning. Therefore, he could not come to terms with himself. Lord recognized this and helped him to think and reason which resulted in Arjun regaining his confidence.

As I said we all take different routes to reach the destination and Gita gives us number of options for selecting the route.

In closing I will share one important piece of advice that I received from my father and I made it part of my life. I must say that I owe everything in my life to this advice.

My father told when I was ready to go to college that everyday do one good thing for youself first and then do another good thing for someone else. It could be your family member, friend, relative or stranger. The condition is if you miss it then do not say that you will do two things other day but start all over again. Good thing means making you and other smile or happy. It was not hard but what I have realized over the years that it has brought discipline in my life and it has made planning a part of my life. Discipline and Planning are the two most important tools in making life happy and simple. Try it.

Finally –  a puzzle or quiz:

English language has 2 words, Sorry and Thanks. Sorry represents Atma and Thanks represents Parmatma, if you agree then make it part of your life. Nirvana is guaranteed during your current life.
